The Agricultural Business Council (Agbiz) has welcomed President Jacob Zuma's appointment of former Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA) Minister Pravin Gordhan as new Finance Minister.

"The partial recovery of the markets is vindication of the move and has undone some of the damage caused by the initial release of Minister Nene and the appointment of Des van Rooyen," said Purchase.
