Agriculture was one of the reasons the economy contracted in the first quarter and industry players are keeping a close eye on weather developments given that planting season is at hand.

The rain forecast for Mpumalanga, KwaZulu-Natal, central parts of the Free State, northern parts of the Eastern Cape and southern parts of the Western Cape over the next eight days could help, Agricultural Business Chamber head of economic and agribusiness intelligence Wandile Sihlobo said.  Read more»
