Agbiz and Members Mark Mandela Day by Supporting Give Them Hope Foundation
In celebration
of Nelson Mandela Day, Agbiz partnered with Give Them Hope Foundation in
Nellmapius, Pretoria, for its Second Annual Agbiz Charity Drive,
reaffirming its commitment to community upliftment and the spirit of Ubuntu
through collective action.
Founded in 2009
by Mrs. Pinky Mothiba, Give Them Hope Foundation provides residential care,
educational support and community outreach programmes for children aged 0–18
who are orphaned, abandoned, HIV-positive or living with impoverished
caregivers. Through its work, the foundation restores dignity, fosters
self-reliance and creates opportunities for vulnerable children to build
brighter futures.
As part of the
initiative, Agbiz made a corporate cash donation to the foundation, in support
of its ongoing work. Agbiz members generously donated items from the
foundation's identified list of needs, helping to provide essential goods for
the children and support the day-to-day running of the centre. The donations
reflected the collective generosity of Agbiz's membership and their commitment
to making a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable children.

On the day, the
Agbiz team spent 67 minutes at the foundation, officially handing over the
donations, engaging with the children and staff, and learning more about the
important work the organisation has been doing for vulnerable children and
families for more than 15 years.
"On the
anniversary of Madiba's birthday, we are called to dedicate 67 minutes of our
time to community service. We wanted to respond as the Agbiz team and we are
dedicating our morning to help out at the Give Them Hope Foundation. Our
members have also been extremely generous and supplied donations and their time
to support the initiative. We are very grateful for the generosity of our
members and happy to make a small contribution ourselves. More than anything
else, it is important to press pause for a second on our busy work lives and
spend some time within our communities," said Theo Boshoff, CEO of
Agbiz.

this year's charity drive once again demonstrated the power of collaboration
