SA food price inflation likely to moderate in the second half of 2021

Agbiz chief economist Wandile Sihlobo says while the recent data continue to show that South Africa’s consumer food price inflation remains elevated, the second half of the year could show moderation. In June 2021, South Africa’s consumer food price inflation accelerated to 7 % year-on-year (y/y) from 6,8% y/y in the previous month.
