Fire rips through Khayamandi in Stellenbosch

A fire has ripped through Zone O at Khayamandi in Stellenbosch. Very strong wind is making clearing and early rebuilding efforts extremely difficult with the local ward councillor warning people to vacate the area. Cape Winelanda Disaster Risk Management, the local municipality and Gift of the Givers are on the scene. A severe weather warning at level 9 has been issued for the certain parts of the province with strong wind and torrential rain expected over the next two days.
